Autumn Hope

© 2012  Music by Tony Crimlisk; Lyric by Judith Crimlisk

My heart will wait,
‘Till autumn leaves golden fall -
And I am held in love’s embrace once more.
I am strong
My broken heart will mend,
When spring comes round -
When spring comes round again.

Gentle touches on my face.
Love’s wanting stroke that silken falls
‘Till I am held in love’s embrace once more.

My heart won’t break
‘Though it make ache, now that he’s/she’s gone
As golden leaves are falling down I know,
I am strong
This broken heart will soar
And I will love once more
When spring-
When spring comes round.

There’ll come a time;
For me when leaves turn to green.
And flowers bloom again and songbirds sing.
I am strong;
My broken heart will know
And I will grow -
Yes, I will grow once more.

Gentle touches on my face.
Love’s wanting stroke that silken falls
‘Till I am held in love’s embrace once more.

My heart won’t stop,
This loving life yet longing holds
I yielding wait ‘till sunlight melts cold snows.
I am strong
My broken heart will mend
I know I’ll love again
When spring –
When spring comes round once more.

Quiet Times
© 2012  Music by Tony Crimlisk

In the evenings I still see her sitting there
Close beside me in that old blue chair
Now that she’s lost to me,
The cost to me lives on.
And in quiet times I can’t believe she’s gone.
Yes in quiet times….
I can’t believe she’s gone.

I remember all the times
We watched the sun set on a golden summer’s

day.
I remember how she’d smile,
As we sat there for a while
And still in quiet times…..
The memories linger on.

Now I try to carry on just as before
Live my life as I had always done
But life’s not real somehow, now she’s no

longer here
And in quiet times I can’t believe she’s gone
Yes, in quiet times…..
I can’t believe she’s gone

And I think of all the things
We did together
And the places that we saw
And I feel her close again
Just as once we were, and then,
Then, in quiet times
I can’t believe she’s gone.

Yes, in quiet times…
I hear her voice and then
Then in quiet times I want her back again
It’s in quiet times as evening shadows fall…
Then, in quiet times…I miss her most of all.

Now it’s only happy memories that remain.
And they grow fainter as I loose the pain.
I see the sun still shines; the stars still keep their place.
But in quiet times I still can hear our song.
And in quiet times, I can’t believe she’s gone.

It’s Just Natural

Music by Tony Crimlisk
Lyric by Margaret Wilcox

It’s just natural
Yes, it’s just natural.
It’s just natural to be in love with you
That’s natural.

Watch the sun keep moving round.
See the clouds go by.
Growing flowers make no sound,
You can’t hear them cry.

That’s just natural,
That the sea must ebb and flow.
And it natural that a child should thrive and grow.
And it’ just natural, to be in love with you
That’s natural.

Watch a bird on homeward flight.
He won’t go astray.
Makes no difference day or night
He can tell the way.

That’s just natural.
That the sea must ebb and flow,
And it natural that a flower should thrive and grow.
And it’s just natural, to be in love with you;
That’s natural.

That’s just natural.
That the sea must ebb and flow,
And it’s natural that a flower should thrive and grow.
And it’ just natural, to be in love with you;
That’s natural.

I’m Still Doing OK

I’m out of my teens, and my face may have that lived-in look.
(Spoken) It took a lot of living to get it to look this way.
But don’t write me off my friends; no don’t you close that book (spoken) - ‘Cause I’m doing OK.

If there’s a swinging party, well baby please ask me along.
I’ll dance all night and even sing you a song.
No matter if I have a hair or two that’s going grey, Hey!
I’m still loving life, and I’m doing OK.

I’ll go swimming by moonlight, or climb a mountain top.
If the company’s right I will talk through the night,
And I’ll be the last to stop.
I’ll fly off to Paris to buy some ‘escargot’.
With a girl by my side I will go for a ride ,
Or a quick flip to Mexico.

I’m feeling hale and hearty with all of my circuits intact.
And any girl can come and check on this fact!
I think that she’ll discover older guys are ‘distangué’, Hey!
I’m still loving life, and I’m doing OK.

I’ve never felt so happy since I left behind fifty-five.
There’s such a lot of joy in just being alive.
I’m doing things my way (as I think I heard somebody say), Yeah. I’m still loving life and I’m doing, Oh…
I’m still loving life and I’m doing, Oh…
I’m still loving life and I’m doing O.K.!

Taking the Next Train Out

© 2012  Music and lyric by Tony Crimlisk

Girl, you made all the rules and now you’ve just said we’re through!
I gave you all the love I had to give.
But now you’ve turned around and you’ve simply walked away.
Well, don’t you think you’re the only girl in town.

I’ve always thought of you in a special kind of way.
I made such plans so that we could settle down.
But now I’ve seen the light and I wont see you again.
I’ll hide all the heartbreak and pain
And I’ll start my life over again – and I’ll be

Taking the first train out
To some place I know nothing about
And when I get there, I’m going to settle down.
Oh there must be a place somewhere
Where I can find someone to share my life –
And all the love I have to spare.
All my life and all the love I have to spare.

Instrumental

Now when I’m up and gone I wont know what’s going on,
And it can’t hurt, ‘cause I wont be there to see.
Then you can shop around and date every boy in town
And I’ll do the same just you see
The same you’ve been doing to me – and I’ll be

Taking the first train out
To some place I know nothing about
And when I get there, I’m going to settle down.
Oh there must be a place somewhere
Where I can find someone to share my life –
And all the love I have to spare.
All my life and all the love I have to share.

That's Christmas to Me

Winter weather and toboggan slides

Roasting chestnuts by the fire-side

Someone loving sitting by your side

That’s Christmas to me.

All together by the firelight’s glow

Greeting old friends as they come and go.

Singing carols in the falling snow.

That’s Christmas to me.

The joy that friendships bring and

The carols that we sing, and

The crackers that we pull that never pop!

The growing expectations as you put up decorations

And the Christmas tree with starlight on the top.

Christmas morning when it’s dark out-side

Children searching for the gifts you hide.

Eager faces as they peer inside

That’s Christmas to me

There’s magic in the air, and

Excitement everywhere, and

Christmas fare is all around.

The tree lights shine and twinkle as a welcome to Chris Kringle

As he makes his way across the chimney tops.

You’ll see the....

Children playing in the falling snow

Smells of winter and the mistletoe

Voices singing in the church below

That makes Christmas

            A happy Christmas.

Yes, that is Christmas to me.

You’ve Gotta Make the Most

(of What You’ve Got)

Music and lyric by Tony Crimlisk

You gotta make the most of what you've got

You may be fat or thin or cool or maybe hot!

There's not much you can do, but hey!

You'll still be you and anyway

You gotta make the most of ev'ry thing you've got!

Now don't you worry 'bout the things they say.

You know you can't do much about it any way!

Stick out your chin and brave the day.

There's always someone there who'll say

"You know I really like you just the way you are!"

(Instrumental)

Life isn’t all that it’s meant to be.

Life isn’t always fair!

But there's something that you should know

You've got a friend in me!

You gotta make the most of what you've got!

Some men are tall and handsome, great! But some are not!

In some things, sure, you have missed out

But you’ve still lots to shout about!

So just you make the most of ev'ry thing you've got!
